Abstract

In this communication, the cardiac ultrastructural abnormalities observed in the cardiomyopathies are reviewed under the following categories:

  1. 1)

    hypertrophic cardiomyopathy;

  2. 2)

    congestive (ventricular-dilated) cardiomyopathies;

  3. 3)

    restrictive cardiomyopathy and endomyocardial diseases, and

  4. 4)

    secondary heart muscle diseases.
