The Natural History of Human Breast Cancer: Implications for Patient Management

During the past two decades, numerous investigations have shown that the growth rate of human breast cancer is throughout its clinical course either constant or progressively decreasing [1,2]. Moreover, when the growth rates of the primary tumor and of its distant metastases were measured, it was found that they were related but the latter were more rapid [3,4].
