Abstract
Since an unfavorable clinical outcome is now expected for a significant percentage of IgA nephropathy patients [1–9], the demonstration of factors that are associated with the development of end-stage renal disease will be an important area of investigation in the next few years. In order to understand whether risk factors that are identified in adult patients will be important for the pediatric patient, it is necessary to consider the differences in expression of clinical disease that exist between adult and pediatric patients.
