Potency-sparing modification of radical retropubic prostatectomy

In recent years efforts have been made in surgical oncology to achieve cancer control while minimizing morbidity and functional sacrifices for patients. To this end the potency-sparing modification of radical retropubic prostatectomy was developed by Walsh (1983). This operation preserves erectile function in the great majority of patients.
