Polychlorinated Biphenyls-PCB’s

  • Theodore H. AllegriSr.

Polychlorinated biphenyls, or PCBs as they are often called, were manufactured in the United States from 1929 to 1977. Fortunately, because they are extremely toxic and hazardous to human health and the environment, they are no longer permitted to be manufactured in this country. Unfortunately, during the almost 50 years of their production many hundreds of million of pounds were produced and many pounds of PCBs are still in places where they were originally used.
