Multiple Query Processing in Local Area Database System

  • Shu Gang Shi

Abstract

If a local area network is realized by a bus line, we have the following two problems to be considered. (l)How to use its broadcasting capability. (2)At the bus line transmission of files must be done serially, which may cause a bottleneck of the system. thus the file transmission scheduling is a very important problem for this case. In this paper, we will give procedures for file transmission schedule when global database queries are given. Each query is specified by a set of files which are used. We also discuss the case when a partial order on the files is also defined.
