Drug Abuse 1975–1985: Clinical Perspectives of the Bahamian Experience of Illegal Substances
In 1969, Sandilands Hospital was the only in-patient psychiatric facility in the Bahamas. Hospital records show that for that year, there were twenty-two persons admitted to hospital who were treated for drug related conditions. In 1970, twenty-seven drug related cases were admitted to hospital for treatment and in 1971, there were forty-five, and in 1972, thirty-four.
