Abstract
Urethane is a polymer that has the characteristic linkage
and is formed by reaction of a dissocyanate and a polyol.1–3 The polymerization can be schematically represented as
Some of the diisocyanates commonly used industrially are toluene diisocyanates
or diphenyl methane diisocyanate
and both of these are bifunctional monomers.
