Abstract

Quite simply, the HyperText Markup Language (HTML) is a small collection of document markup tags which can be used to define hypertext documents which are portable from one computing platform to another. HTML contains elements which are characteristic of descriptive and referential markup. The portability of HTML marked-up documents permits their independent use by World Wide Web (WWW) browsers.
