Children’s nutrition: drivers for change

Abstract

Interest in the role of diet in the maintenance of good health and the prevention of disease is ever increasing. In this chapter we will examine how children’s diets compare with the current dietary recommendations advised by many national authorities. Against this background we will examine some of the challenges facing food manufacturers who want to make products which help foster healthy lifestyles for children in the UK, through healthy eating habits.
