Part of the book series: Ettore Majorana International Science Series ((EMISS,volume 38))

Abstract

Much of the material to be covered in this chapter has been discussed in earlier chapters on ETRAN, EGS and the ITS systems. This chapter explicitly compares and contrasts the codes with the intention of providing some new insights into them. It should be noted that, for the purposes of this chapter, the term ETRAN refers to the original NBS version of ETRAN1,2 and to its many descendants, primarily the ITS system from Sandia3.
