Abstract

Study of liquid-phase homogeneous chemical oscillators has been an ever growing area of chemistry for the past 15 years1. This activity was first stimulated from the recognition that oscillating isothermal chemical reactions may be thought as simplified prototype examples for the many rhythmic behaviours found at different levels in biological systems. These reactions were also a chalenge to kineticists. More recently mathematicians and physicists have also focused their attention on these chemical systems. These reactions are then thought as rather flexible experimental system where theoreticians can test their latest conjectures on nonlinear dynamical systems with large number of degree of freedom.
