Abstract
In this paper, I will emphasize the general motivation for the Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) e+-H project by drawing appropriate analogies to e−-H scattering, with special attention given to the recent results of spin-tagged experiments carried out first at Yale University and later at City College. I will also describe the general layout of the BNL experiment as originally envisioned, and in this context I will discuss some of the results of a hybrid beam transport design study performed largely by F.J. Mulligan. Finally, I will present the updated design plans for the experiment along with some comments about the general scope of the project.
