Surveillance

Abstract

Dams require defensive engineering to ensure their continuing security. This entails analysis of every force that might be imposed and incorporation of protective elements to cope with each and every condition. Each project calls for its own tailoring of defenses to meet the hazards inherent in and peculiar to the site. Any dam may be similar to many others, but considering the infinitely diverse conditions that may prevail, each dam is unique. There is no universal surveillance system that would be appropriate in every case.
