Spectroscopy of Non-Exotic (q\(\bar q\)) and Exotic (gg, ggg, q\(\bar q\)g, q\(\bar q\)q\(\bar q\)) Light Mesons with the Obelix Detector at Lear

  • Chapter
Spectroscopy of Light and Heavy Quarks

Abstract

The physics programme of the OBELIX experiment1 includes spectroscopy of light conventional (q\(\bar q\)) and exotic (glueball, hybrid, qq\(\bar q\) \(\bar q\)) mesons, dynamics of N\(\bar N\) interactions, and studies of annihilation of antinucleons with nuclei. This report is restricted to aspects concerning the first topic; it summarizes the relevant physics motivations, the experimental programme, and the principal characteristics of the detector.
