Abstract
During the past decade, research on the psychological aspects of cancer has produced some challenging ways of understanding the mechanisms by which patients may adapt to their illness, coping mechansms that may influence the process of survival (Greer & McEwan, 1985; Weisman, 1979; Wortman & Schetter, 1979).
