Abstract

The theories of energy conversion by photovoltaic, photoelectrochemical, photochemical and solar thermal processes involving light induced charge carrier separation or photon excitation, respectively, are well established. Although parametric mechanisms play a crucial role in many branches of physics, mostly as undesired, energy consuming side effects, up to now no attempt has been made to investigate the applicability of these processes for solar energy conversion.
