Influence of Glutathione Depletion on Hepatic Copper Uptake and Biliary Copper Excretion in the Rat

Abstract

Although it was demonstrated1 that glutathione (GSH) depletion reduced biliary copper (Cu) excretion in rats, the relation between GSH and Cu excretion has not been fully investigated. The purpose of this study was to contribute to the understanding of the process of biliary Cu excretion and the role of GSH in it.
