Abstract
My book Functional and Stereotactic Neurosurgery inthe Russian language appeared from the Moscow publishing house Meditsina at the end of 1981. The present English edition of this book differs substantially from the previous publication. First, the English edition is more than three times as large as the Russian edition. All chapters have been significantly revised and enlarged. In this edition, I have attempted to incorporate and analyze the vast amount of new information that has appeared in the literature of recent years. Now the book includes a bibliography of more than 2500 references.
