Comparison of dσ/dΩ and Aon Results in \( \overline p \)p Elastic Scattering with Model Predictions

  • Chapter
Antiproton-Nucleon and Antiproton-Nucleus Interactions

Abstract

Recent measurements by the SING collaboration (experiment PS172 at LEAR) of dσ/dΩ and Aon in p̄p elastic scattering between 500 and 1550 MeV/c may be used to critically examine N̄N potential models. In this paper four of such models are compared with the experimental data. All models fall short in explaining the details of the asymmetry distributions, although the general trend is predicted more or less correctly.
