Abstract

Experimental results are presented on the production and collective flow patterns of light nuclei (Z = 1,2) and intermediate mass nuclear fragments (3 ≤ Z ≤ 10) over a large solid angle. The reaction Au + Au at 200 AMeV is studied to provide information on creation and on collective sidewards flow of intermediate mass fragments into the reaction plane. Squeeze-out of hot participating baryons — observed perpendicular to the reaction plane — is in addition investigated for 400 AMeV Ca + Ca, Nb + Nb, and Au + Au collisions. Both components of the collective flow provide important information on the equation of state and viscosity of hot nuclear matter.
