Abstract
A solvent sublation technique has been applied to the removal of mesitylene from aqueous emulsions. The aim of the investigation was to select an organic solvent which will protect the atmosphere against pollution from mesitylene vapours which could be released from the airstream coming out of a flotation column. Dodecane appeared to be an appropriate solvent for this purpose. Retention of mesitylene in the dodecane layer was extremely good.
