Abstract
As the Internet turns the world into a global village, numerous communication applications bloom. It is changing the way we live and work. A protocol for multi-party communications independent to applications, functionality, and supporting techniques is under urgent demand. It is to cater to ever-changing networking techniques, to offer various system functions, and to meet unforeseen computer network applications.
This work is partially supported by a Professional development grant by for Distance Learning and Instructional Technology by the President’s Office of the University of Massachusetts and the Information Technology Council.
