Abstract

Patients with panic disorder are commonly seen in family practice. It is highly desirable to begin prompt treatment when a patient presents with new-onset panic disorder to prevent the frequent sequelae of agoraphobia and depression. As with most other problems, early treatment makes resolution easier and more successful.
