Abstract

As assisted reproductive technology (ART) programs improve their success rate, the number of higher-order multiple pregnancies increases dramatically. Multifetal pregnancy is a concern both of patients undergoing ART as weIl as to physicians and healthcare insurers alike. High-order multiples increases maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality. Maternal and fetal health as weIl as economic considerations are pressing issues of importance when the number of high-order multiples rise.
