Pesticide and growth regulator residues in pineapple

  • Conference paper

Part of the book series: Residue Reviews ((RECT,volume 35))

Abstract

Early in the history of pineapple cultivation in Hawaii, pesticides were employed to control the many insects, nematodes, fungi, and weeds prevalent in this mild tropical climate which allows continuous growth of most organisms throughout the year. In more recent years, the application of growth regulators was initiated to control flowering and promote fruit enlargement.
