Abstract
The sudden cardiac death studies coordinated by the National Heart-Lung Institute (Baltimore, San Francisco, Columbus, Miami) were difficult to combine, since each working group has posed different questions, depending on the interests of the individual investigators. This synopsis will give some data which are important for our efforts toward prevention and emergency treatment of sudden cardiac death and the prognosis after restoration of spontaneous circulation.
