Abstract

Only the history of renal transplantation in man will be reviewed briefly. The reader is referred to Hume (5) or to Saunders (10), both of whom give excellent and eloquent reviews of the conceptual history of transplantation in great detail.

When a thing ceases to be a subject of controversy, it ceases to be a subject of interest. William Hazlitt The Atlas, January 31, 1830
