Abstract
Some of Fisher’s papers prior to 1922 had contained brief glimpses of his general ideas on statistical theory. The first full account of these ideas appeared in 1922 in the 59-page article “On the Mathematical Foundations of Theoretical Statistics” [CP 18]. The paper opens with general remarks about the then-current state, of theoretical statistics.
