Abstract
The detection and quantitation of trace components have always been challenges to the analytical chemist. With the increasing interest in environmental, clinical, and other biological problems, there is a growing need for trace analytical methods that are suitable for complex mixtures. One such area of need is the speciation of organics present in the sub-parts-per-million range. It is clear that some sort of separation procedure must be used to resolve the components before measurements can be performed.
