In Chap. 4, the principle, method, and rationale of randomization tests applicable to the one-sample (or paired-sample) case and the null hypothesis of symmetry about a specified point were illustrated and some properties of these tests were discussed. In this chapter we employ the same ideas in the case of two independent sets of observations and the null hypothesis of identical populations.
