Abstract
Protection against the superoxide radical \(0_2^{\bar \bullet } \) is provided by the metallo-enzyme superoxide dismutase (SOD) which catalyses its dismutation: \(\left( {2\;\bar \dot 0\; + \;2{H^ + }\;\;{H_2}{0_2}\; + \;{0_2}} \right)\)
