Abstract
High altitude retinopathy, a term introduced by Dr. Charles Houston; presently includes retinal hemorrhages, retinal vascular engorgement, retinal edema, and perhaps papilledema (3–5). These conditions occur in lowlanders ascending to altitudes greater than 3000 m, and their pathophysiology is essentially unknown. The purpose of this report is to add to this category a new finding, that of cotton-wool spots.
