Abstract

As we discussed in our introductory chapter, this study examined the development of cognitive and metacognitive aspects of decoding, comprehension, and advanced strategies, and of language, attention, and memory, all in regard to level of reading ability. The results for comprehension and strategies (i.e., Sets 3, 4, 5, and 6 in Table 2-1) are reported in this chapter. A brief review of the relevant literature follows.
