Abstract

In the next several chapters we will attempt to synthesize the experimental research on entrapment. In practically every experiment to be described, the researchers have sought to delineate the antecedents of entrapment. Accordingly, they have tested the effect(s) of one or more independent variables on decision-makers’ willingness to persist in, or withdraw from, an entrapping dilemma.
