Abstract
In the previous chapter we described several self-report measures of the sense of humor that we adopted for our research. Two of these, Metamessage Sensitivity and Liking of Humor, were subscales from the Sense of Humor Questionnaire (SHQ) (Svebak, 1974a). In addition to these measures, we also created two scales, the Situational Humor Response Questionnaire and the Coping Humor Scale. Our next step was to assess the validity of each of these measures.
