Abstract
Any physicist who has attended seminars at which Ted Holstein was in attendance is aware of his insistence on a total understanding and an ability to focus on the key questions, questions which illuminated the subject for all. Edward Gerjuoy, a fellow attendee with him at graduate courses, related that even at that stage in Ted’s career it was clear that he was one of those few students who could be counted on to understand what was going on and was a great asset in his willingness and ability to communicate clearly his understanding.
