Abstract
This paper present a brief overview of safety consideration in human factors design and analysis. The emphasis is upon safety in the industrial setting. A brief review of legislation and litigation on industrial safety is presented. Developments in human factors pertaining to safety are reviewed. Various hazards and procedures for averting there hazards are also reviewed. Finally, methods for improving safety, and areas where research is needed, are discussed.
