Synthesis and Biological Activity of the Immunomodulatory Site of Interleukin 1

  • Chapter
Macromolecular Biorecognition

Abstract

The knowledge of the primary structure of a protein may provide important information on the structure-activity relationship within the molecule, as the zones of the molecule particularly rich in hydrophilic residues are presumably located on its external surface, so that they can interact more easily with other molecules of the environment.
