Hematopoietic Growth Factors

Abstract

A number of high quality abstracts were received for the Hematopoietic Growth Factor Workshop at the 5th International Lymphokine Workshop. From the submitted poster presentations 14 studies were selected for a brief 10 minute oral presentation and discussion at the convened workshop. Selections were based on work consistent with the central theme of the Lymphokine Meeting, “Molecular Mechanisms of Lymphokine Action”. The workshop was divided into specific areas of interest; i) identification of “new” hematopoietic growth factors or/newly described activities, ii) molecular characterization of colony stimulating factors (CSFs), and structure-function analyses; iii) intracellular mechanism(s) and gene expression and iv) molecular relationships of CSFs to myeloid leukemia.
