Injury and Illness

  • Edwin L. Klingelhofer

Abstract

Injury or illness can keep a child dependent for a lifetime; it can also abruptly transform an independent into a dependent child—one with overwhelming problems and needs. Moreover, adult children who suddenly become disabled will often have their own dependents who then become complicating elements in what is already a complex and difficult situation.
