Abstract
This volume has continued with the tradition laid down in the two preceding volumes in this series. As before, each of the topics was dealt with in a rigorous and integrative manner. There were further examples of innovative work and “cutting-edge” research, with new data presented in a number of cases. Practical linkages were drawn where appropriate, and key questions were raised for each advance or fresh insight put forth. All of this was in keeping with the aims of the Advances series.
