Abstract
The introduction discusses approaches to research within the scope of problems of stability and stabilization of motion with respect to part of the variables (part of the coordinates of the phase vector of a dynamic system). The basic methods are analyzed, and the distinguishing features and possibilities of such problems are given much attention. A detailed analysis of the general situations and concrete problems that led to research in this area is presented. Also considered is the problem of control with respect to part of the variables in a finite time interval.
