Abstract
As a pediatrician and neonatologist, I am confronted on a daily basis with issues concerning fetal viability, fetal therapy, and genetic screening. I am often asked by families to assist them in decision making prior to, during, and after a pregnancy. Most of my commentary will focus on the issue of the fetus as a patient and fetal therapy. At the end, I will add some brief comments on genetic screening and the problem of the time limits on abortion.
