Abstract
This book aspires to present dialectical metatheory as a paradigm that can unite clinical and developmental psychology. In doing so, it faces the task of addressing itself to several sets of readers simultaneously. These include, among others, readers whose intellectual roots are in the psychoanalytic tradition, the Piagetian constructive-developmental tradition, and the family systems tradition.
