Abstract

DP alpha/EcoRI blots were submitted by two laboratories. Fragments defined on either laboratories’ blots were included as standard fragments. The DP alpha/EcoRI system identified six fragments on the core cell lines as shown in Table 1 and Figure 1. Portions of the blots submitted showed relatively faint bands or could not be read due to high background. Fragment 2 was identified by one of the two labs reporting this system and was a faint band which did not photograph satisfactorily. For fragments 4, 5 (which are probably nonpolymorphic), and 6, portions of the blots could not be read; blot C was especially problematic, so that presence/absence for the DNAs in lanes 49 to 72 is unreliable, and inability to determine presence/absence of a given fragment is indicated with an asterisk (*) in Table 2. The discrepancies for fragments 4, 5, and 6 involved portions of the blots which could not be read.
