Abstract
For a number of decades serotonin (5-hydroxytryptamine, 5-HT) has been implicated in the control of aggressive behavior. Early work on 5-HT and aggression indicated that general 5-HT activation decreased aggression, whereas overall inactivation of 5-HT by various means enhanced it.1
