Abstract

The two revolutions in vaccinology consist of the biotechnology revolution, which is providing an unprecedented opportunity to produce new and better vaccines, and the children’s revolution of UNICEF, which administers the vaccines now available throughout the world. These two revolutions clearly synergize: the promise of new and better vaccines has galvanized the application of available vaccines and the widespread use of vaccines encourages investigators and funders to develop new and better ones.
