The Place of Sonography in Breast Diagnosis

  • Chapter
Ultrasound Mammography

Abstract

In many cases it is possible to correlate a sonographically detected lesion with a clinically palpable mass. On the other hand, it is not unusual to find discrepancies between palpatory and sonographic findings. Thus, a tumor may be sonographically detectable but nonpalpable, or a palpable mass may not have a sonographic counterpart.
