The Effect of Approximations to the Thermodynamic Properties on the Stability of Compressible Boundary Layer Flow

A study is conducted to investigate the effect of thermodynamic properties on the stability of compressible boundary layer flows. Both variable Prandtl number and variable Cp show up to 25 percent variation in the growth rates when compared against results obtained when these parameters are held constant. This suggests that nonparallel computations should incorporate the proper temperature dependence of these quantities.
